Rick Lovell

Ermal ‘Rick’ Lovell, age 56 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri following years of ill health. Rick was born July 9, 1969 in Joplin to the late Burton and Mary (O’Connell) Lovell.

Rick graduated from Carl Junction High School with the class of 1988 and began working in different manufacturing jobs throughout the Joplin area. He loved to spend time with his family, hanging outdoors and doing a little fishing. He was an avid pool player in the area, gathering many close friends during that time.

On August 10, 1992, Rick married Joanna Richards in Carthage, Missouri. She has preceded him in death as well as a brother, Emmett Lovell.

Those left to mourn his passing include his children, Amanda Lovell of Joplin, Rebecca Lovell of Boliver, Missouri and Joshua Lovell of Carthage; three grandchildren, Madilynn, Griffin and Charlotte; one sister, Michele Lovell of Carthage; a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
