Gerald Earl Hutton, Neosho, entered into rest at his home on March 27, 2018 at the age of 79 years, 4 months, and 5 days.
He was born Oct. 22, 1938 in Springfield, MO, a twin son of D.H. and Lenore (Faulkner) Hutton. Gerald lived with his family in Hartville, MO until graduating Hartville High in 1957. His love for God and the Bible began in grade school when his teacher said she would give a Bible to anyone that memorized 200 scriptures; Gerry did just that and could still remember them. He and his twin, Gene, joined the Army Reserves before graduating and served five years. He moved to Springfield, MO after graduating and worked at Lily Tulip nearly 40 years before his retirement.
Gerald married Carolyn Hunt on Oct. 27, 1989; she survives of the home. The couple moved to Neosho in March 2010. Gerald loved vacations and spent hours in planning; together Gerry and Carolyn traveled to all 50 states, Mexico, and Canada. Their dear friends, Mick and Bobbie Henry, accompanied them on many trips. Gerald was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, which he attended until his health failed. His main love and enjoyment in life was singing hymns and gospel music and he would wake up and go to bed singing.
Gerald is survived by three children: Debra A. Hutton, Branson, MO, Angela D. Senter and husband, Frank, Eldon, MO, and Dustin G. Herrington and wife, Billie, New London, MO; two brothers: Dean Hutton, Marshfield, MO, and Gene Hutton, Springfield, MO; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren; in-laws, Linda Hunt and Michael Grace; and dear family friend, Gordon Bader, Neosho, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Helen Hutton.
