Sheri Stewart Wilson, age 61, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Mercy of Joplin after a courageous battle with cancer.
Sheri was born June 20, 1956 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She grew up in Wichita, Kansas where she graduated from Wichita North High School. She moved to Joplin in 1996, and went to work for the Joplin High School in the principal's office. She loved working at the school, and felt a true bond with the students. She and her husband loved being outdoors, and enjoyed riding in their Jeep.
Sheri was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Stewart, who passed away in 1993, and a sister, Nicolette "Nicki" Vosmera.
Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Robert "Bob" Wilson; mother, Patsy "Patt" Stewart of Phoenix, Arizona; father and mother-in-law, Kyle and Shirley Everhart of Wellington, Kansas; sister-in-law, Cheryl Velasquez of Tampa, Florida, brother-in-laws, Alan Wilson, Independence, Missouri, John Wilson of Mount Pilot, North Carolina; nephew, Jason Williams and wife Dawna of Omaha, Nebraska; niece, Mandi Hogan of Nashville, Tennessee; aunts, Joan Stanton of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, and Dema Lee of Phoenix, Arizona; numerous other family, and many friends.
Memorial service will be Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Joplin High School Performing Arts Center.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Joplin High School Project Graduation.
