Verna “Louden” Brown, 97, passed away March 18, 2018 at her home in Carthage. Verna was born February 23, 1921 in Alba, MO to William and Ollie “Pierce” Louden. She was a lifetime resident of Carthage, a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church of Carthage. Verna enjoyed golf and was a member of the Carthage Women’s League.
Verna was united in marriage to J.W. “Dub” Brown July 27, 1941 in Carthage; he preceded her in death November 11, 1976.
Verna is survived by her daughter, Patricia Brown, of Springfield, Missouri, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Burial will be at Park Cemetery.
