Jimmie Allen Coleman, 75, of Mindenmines, MO, passed away at 4:50 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Freeman West, Joplin, MO.
He was born December 3, 1942, to James O. and Fannie (Sustarsic) Coleman at Foxtown, KS.
On June 1, 1963, he was united in marriage to Glenda Kay Scott at Lamar, MO. She survives of the home, Mindenmines, MO.
Jimmie was a Motor Carrier Inspector for the Kansas Highway Patrol for 17 years before his retirement.
Membership was held in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Pittsburg. He enjoyed cars and he loved to fish.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, David Coleman and his wife, Sabrina of Mindenmines, MO, one daughter, Katherine Allen and her husband, Jimmy of Girard, KS, one brother, Steve Coleman of Mindenmines, MO, three sisters, Linda Wenger of Iowa, Brenda Trout and Kim Daugherty both of Mindenmines, MO, four grandchildren, William Potter, Joshua Yaws, Austin Coleman and Emily Allen and four great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Vicki Ann Yaws and one granddaughter, Kristy Yaws.
A service for Jimmie is set for 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at the Brenner Mortuary Chapel with Father Robert McElwee conducting the service. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Frontenac. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Ronald McDonald House in Columbia, MO. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
