Wilma Mae Jones, 90, a lifetime resident of Weir, Kansas, passed away March 7, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born October 13, 1927 in Weir, Kansas. The daughter of John L. and Marie (Sayer) Dugger.
She was a graduate from Columbus High.
Wilma worked for the U.S Postal Service for 32 years, she retired in 1992.
She married Herman Walker in 1946 in Norfolk, Virginia. He proceeded her in death in November of 1962. She married Jay Jones in Cherokee, Kansas on January 8, 1967. He preceded her in death in September of 1993.
Wilma was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Kent Chapter #117, Post worthy Matron, District Aide of District #10, and American Legion Unit #274 Clarence Smith.
She was a member of the Weir Methodist Church.
Survivors include son; Dean (Danny) Walker of Joplin, Missouri, 2 daughters; Eileen (Charles) Begando and Kristy Hull both of Weir, Kansas, 2 sisters; Dorothy Maxwell Parmele of Kansas City, Missouri, Marian (Art) Hartshorn of Pittsburg Kansas; 4 grandsons; Jason (Danya) Walker, of Joplin, Missouri, Joshua Walker of Granby, Missouri, Dustin (Cherub) Hull of Weir, Kansas, Ben Hull of Coffeeville, Kansas, 2 great-granddaughters; Renee Walker of Joplin, Missouri, Samantha Walker of Joplin, Missouri, great-grandson; Zane Bohr of Weir, Kansas and several nieces and nephews.
Wilma was preceded in death by both of her husbands and parents.
Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir KS with Pastor Lindsey Clark officiating. Burial will follow at the Park Cemetery in Columbus, KS. Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service at the Funeral home.
