Darol Franks

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Darol J. Franks, age 81, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away at 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at National Health Care in Joplin, Missouri. He was born November 13, 1940, in Granby, Missouri, the son of the late Lonnie Fortner and Margie (Cooper) Franks.

Darol was a lifelong Neosho/Granby resident and graduate from Granby High School.

On April 27, 1962, he married Iva Lucille Ruddick at the First Baptist Church in Neosho.

Darol worked for the Missouri Highway Department in Granby for 38 years. He enjoyed running and was a competitive runner up into his 60’s. He looked forward to running in the Dogwood Run every year, often with his family by his side. Darol also played slow-pitch softball, enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most of all he loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events with his handy camcorder to film and review with them following the event.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Iva, of the home; one son, Gary (Suzy) Franks of Neosho; two grandchildren, Kendra (Tyler) Crow of Seneca and Dustin Wayne Franks of Neosho; and three great-grandchildren, Brenic and Brenton Crow and River Franks.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
