Edith Eck

Edith Ann Eck, 70, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Edith was born on May 6, 1951 in Carthage, Missouri. She grew up in Sarcoxie and was a 1971 graduate of Sarcoxie High School. She work various jobs over her lifetime, including Wild’s Nursery in Sarcoxie, CD’s Pancake Hut in Carthage and St. Luke’s Nursing Center in Carthage, where she obtained employment to be closer to her mother, Lois, who was a resident there. 








Edith most recently was also a resident of St. Luke’s, Carthage due to a chronic illness. Edith was a devout Catholic, a longtime member of St. Agnes Catholic Church on the Sarcoxie Prairie and after she relocated to Carthage she became a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She was a devoted caregiver and best friend to her mother Lois who she lived with from birth until Lois required full time nursing care.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lois Eck.

Edith is survived by her two brothers, Pete Eck and wife, Debbie, of Sarcoxie and Richard Eck and wife, Roberta, of Boise Idaho; nephews, Michael Eck, Ryan Eck and Russel Eck; nieces, Christina Rhymer and Kandace Logan; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass for Edith will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Carthage, with Father Moreno officiating. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Sarcoxie.
