(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Francis Ann McDaniel, 78, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023, in Carthage, Missouri. Francis was born January 9, 1945, to Ivan Charles Voorhees and Zona Marie (Waggoner) Voorhees in Lamar, Missouri.
Francis attended Lamar Schools. She worked at Big Smith, then O’Sullivan Industries from which she retired. Francis enjoyed traveling, especially cruises, quilting and her grandkids and great grandkids.
Francis was united in marriage to Karl B. McDaniel on September 2, 2001, in San Juan, Puerto Rico; he survives.
Francis is survived by her son, Roy David (Sherry) Mason, Jr. of Carthage; her husband, Karl B. McDaniel of Carthage; one brother, Ivan Charles (Denzil) Voorhees, Jr. of Lamar, Missouri; one sister, Ima Jean Pierson of Lamar; four grandchildren, Zachary (Kala) Mason of Carthage, Joshua (Marcie) Mason of Olathe, Kansas, Chloe (Zac) Baldwin of Lamar, and Austin (Shayla) Talley of Lamar; nine great grandchildren, Michael Anderson, Mattie Anderson, Talan Mason, Eli Mason, Clara Mason, Lynleigh Baldwin, Camden Baldwin, Karter Bishop, and Kaselyn Talley.
Francis is preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Zona Voorhees; one daughter, Cheryl Anne Tally; and four sisters, Fay Storm, Lorene Rives, Rosa Lee Monroe, and Dolly Toms.
As per Francis’ wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Missouri Medical Program.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2023, at Ulmer Funeral Home.
