Guy Alan Lyberger, 63, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. Alan was born on March 18, 1960, in Monett, Missouri, the son of the late Herschel and Mary 'Hamilton' Lyberger. He attended Carthage public schools and was a member of the 1979 graduating class.
An avid sportsman, Alan went on to play on the football and wrestling teams at Central Missouri State University. He received his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene with a minor in Fire Safety.
Alan enjoyed spending time with friends, playing cards, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. He will be greatly missed by his friends, daughters, sisters, and grandchildren.
Survivors include his two daughters, Alana Cohen (Dustin), McKinney, Texas, and Amanda Lyberger, Los Angeles, California; grandchildren, Joseph Cohen, and Ivy Cohen; and two sisters, Sue Wells, and Linda Hensley, both of Carthage, Missouri.
A celebration of life will be held from 5 to 8 pm Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Woodshed, 311 S. Main Street, Carthage, Missouri 64836. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
