Shirley Meier

Shirley Irene Meier was born June 28, 1941 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Charlie and Esther (Fowler) Brown. She entered into rest on April 25, 2023 in the comfort of her home in Stark City, Missouri, at the age of 81. 

Shirley graduated from high school in Davenport, Iowa and obtained an Associate’s degree in business. In her early working years, she worked as a key punch operator and later owned and operated a trucking business. She moved to the area in 1997 from Washington. 

Shirley loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and making special gifts for her family, always going above and beyond. Shirley believed in family, which means nobody got left out or forgotten. She enjoyed watching ‘Dancing With The Stars’ and ‘The Bachelorette’, cuddled up with her beloved dog, Joey. She was of the Methodist faith. 

Shirley married Allen Meier and he preceded her in death om May 26, 2014, after sharing fifty-three years together. 

She is survived by her daughter, Jodi Meier of Stark City; four granddaughters, Brittanie (Steven) Wells of Stark City, Heather (Angel) Gaxiola, Ericka Beers and Jessica (Alen) Cantrell, all of Southern, Oklahoma and great grandchildren, Ian, Kadicey, Jacky, Abrianna, Zoey, Stryker, Mollie, Sebastian, Mia, Payton, Landon, Sophia, Rinoa and Isaac. In addition to her husband, Allen, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Lynn Meier, a son, Jeffery Allen Meier and great grandson, Raiden James Wells.

The family will hold a ‘Celebration of Life’ service for Shirley on May 7, 2023.
