(From Ozark Funeral Home)Rebbecca Allene, Herrin, Hall, changed climates On Monday, November 18, 2024 in Neosho, Missouri. She was born to the late, Ethan and Rebecca (Jackson) Herrin on August 28, 1934 in Newton County, Missouri.
Rebbecca had a great childhood, thanks to her hardworking, good citizens, Ethan Allen Herrin, Rebecca Jane, Jackson Herrin. Her sisters, Nettie Lee Rodriguez, deceased, and Marion Lavelle Coffman, have been lifelong best friends.
She joined the WAC – Women Army Corp after graduation from Neosho High School, in 1952. Basic training was sixteen weeks in Ft. Lee, Virginia, then clerical school in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Ft. Jackson, South Caroline was duty station. Rebbecca reenlisted in 1954 for three more years and was one of the first twenty woman to attend Troop Information and Education School at Ft. Slocum, New York. Ft. Jackson, South Carolina was her permanent duty station as a I&E Instructor and mail clerk.
Rebbecca met David Emanuel Hall from Greensboro, North Carolina. Theye married in 1955. His enlistment was soon over. Married women could not be in the WAC. They moved to Neosho, Missouri and lived with her parents while attending Jr. College in Joplin, Missouri. They graduated from Kansas State College in Pittsburg, Kansas. He was a social services employee, and she became an elementary school teacher.
David and Rebbecca had two wonderful sons David Allen and Anthony Douglas.
Their marriage lasted twenty-two years until they divorced. She later married Philip Marbut Moomaw of Dickenson, ND. Rebbecca began teaching in a one room, all eight grades, at Edgewood West of McElhany, Missouri. Worked at Haas Warehouse seven years, taught 17 years at Neosho Intermediate School – 5th grade social studies. One year at White Rock School in Jane Missouri. Fourth grade – 15 years at Pineville Elementary, Pineville, Missouri.
Rebbecca is survived by her sons Allen – wife Leanna and sons and their family of Neosho, Missouri, Anthony Hall of Joplin, Missouri, Chet and Holly of Florida. Douglas and his horses Black and White and Sammy and seven cats of Pineville, Missouri. Stepdaughter, Lora Krizanich and family of Warrensburg, Missouri. The nine children and families of Nettie and Rafael Rodriguez; Rick, Elizabeth, Anna, Tony, Angela, Daniel, Michelle, Cris, Robert. Sister Mary Coffman and children, Kenton, Constance, Barton. My wonderful extended families, Eann Espinoza, mother, Aliva Espinoza of Neosho, Missouri, Jace Jones, Mother and sister Marlie, of Webb City. Anthony and Brigette Hall, Phil, Vince, Bobby of Joplin, Missouri.
