(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel)Harold Leon Holland, of Greenfield, MO, departed this life on Saturday, November 16, 2024, in the Ash Grove Healthcare Facility at the age of 91.
He was born on November 8, 1933 in Greenfield, MO to Ira and Veda (Wilson) Holland. Harold graduated from Greenfield High School in 1953. He served his country in the United States Navy from May of 1953 to 1957. Harold worked six months at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, KS, then graduated from Moller Barber School in Kansas City in August of 1960. He barbered in Greenfield, Springfield, Joplin, and Hickman Mills.
Harold worked for Missouri Pacific Truck Line and Union Pacific Truck Line. He was united in marriage to Barbara Addison on November 28, 1974 in Kansas City, MO. When Harold retired from Union Pacific Truck Line, his family moved to Greenfield in 1985 to farm and raise cattle. He retired from farming in 2019. Harold was a member of the Washington Lodge #87 A.F. & A.M. and the Greenfield American Legion Post #47.
Harold enjoyed playing snooker/pool, riding his motorcycle, and hunting quail. He was a good storyteller and loved to reminisce about family and the good ole days.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ira and Veda Holland.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Holland; one son, Steven Aden Holland; two daughters, Valerie Sue Orand and Laurel Eden Hale and husband David; two grandchildren, Brittany Sokolow and husband Zach, and Michael Hale; one great-grandchild, Kobi Sokolow; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Arcola Christian Church. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or to the Arcola Christian Church. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
