Amber Lucero

(From Parker Mortuary)

Amber LeAnn Lucero, age 38, of Joplin Gained her wings and went to fly with the Angels in Heaven on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO, after a hard-fought battle with uterine cancer.

Amber was born on June 16, 1986 in Enid, OK to Jerry and Tammy Kruckenberg. After high school she attended OSU where she planned on getting her teaching degree.

While in Stillwater, OK, she owned and operated a Sonic location for many years before moving to Joplin to assist management at the 32nd Street Sonic. After a few years, she began working for 4 Corners Pain Relief for 15 years starting as a receptionist and eventually working her way up to assistant manager. Amber was a die-hard OSU and Dallas Cowboys fan. She enjoyed camping, singing, collecting candles and shoes, shopping and her monthly pedicures with her best friend, Lesli.

Amber had such a big heart and you could always find her smiling. She loved spending time with her nieces, great-nieces and great-nephew. They were like her own children and grandbabies and she spoiled them as such. She was a beacon of light in her family, always making everyone laugh and always making the most of every situation she was in. Amber will be deeply missed by all who knew and cherished her.

Amber is survived by her husband, Ben Lucero; two sons, Clayton Culie and Jymie Lucero; mother, Tammy Switzer and husband Bryan; father, Jerry Kruckenberg; three sisters, Amanda Cramer, Angel Miller, husband Trey, and Hannah Kruckenberg; paternal grandparents, Richard and Sharon Knoll; eight nieces and nephew, KateLynn Kruckenberg, Jamie Cramer, Abbigail Cramer, Lauren Bain, Lydia Bain, Lailee Miller, Ledger Miller and Jordyn Kruckenberg; and three great-nieces and nephew, AdaLynn Cramer, Zahmir Wooley and Samariah Kruckenberg.

The family has requested that any donations made to be sent to Cancer Research of America in Amber's name.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21st, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at The Sanctuary of Joplin, 1831 S Connor Ave, Joplin, MO 64804.

Cremation arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
