(From Parker Mortuary)Betty Lynn (Caswell) Budd, a cherished soul known for her unwavering kindness and infectious humor, passed away peacefully in Neosho, Missouri on June 12, 2025 and is now in the arms of her savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on November 13, 1936, in Yampa, Colorado to the late Flippin Boyd Vickers and Eva Irene (Payne) Vickers. Betty's life was a testament to her enduring spirit and her capacity to touch the lives of those around her. But most of all, she loved her savior, Jesus Christ.
Betty dedicated many years of her life to St. John's Hospital, where she worked diligently as a tech in central sterile supply. Upon retirement, Betty's desire to serve others continued to shine brightly as she found joy in working as a cook at the Salvation Army.
She was a faithful member of Faith Holiness Church for many years. She had the rare gift of hospitality, welcoming everyone she met with open arms and a warm smile. Betty's sense of humor was one of her most memorable traits, often bringing laughter and lightness to any room she entered.
Betty is survived by her children, Kimberly Jordan (Charles) of Joplin, MO, Tracy Davis (Robert) of Webb City, MO, Denise Honeyball , of Joplin, MO, Polly Carver (Scott) of Corpus Christi, TX, and Lillian Doreen Caswell of Joplin, MO; grandchildren, Christopher, Chastan, Sarah, Eric, Ethan, Olivia, Morgan, Amy, Amber, Ashley, Meagan; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Evie Kelsey, whom she loved very much; sister-in-law, Cheryl Heath; and brother-in-law, Richard Benge.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Evertt Caswell; her second husband, Earl Budd; infant son, Evertt Boyd Caswell; great-granddaughter, Eden Grace Bendett; son-in- law, Jerry Honeyball; sister-in-law, Darlene Caswell, also affectionately known as Lucy or Ethel; and a host of extended family.
A funeral service is planned for Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Holiness Church in Joplin, MO with Larry DeGonia officiating. Burial to follow at Hornet Cemetery in Seneca, MO. The family invites friends out for a time of visitation on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary in Joplin, MO.
