(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel)Billy Carter Vanhooser, of Dadeville, MO, departed this life on Sunday, October 12, 2025, in Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, MO at the age of 91.
He was born on December 16, 1933 in Greenfield, MO to Hugh and Rose (Brown) Vanhooser. Billy graduated from Greenfield High School. He served his country in the United States Navy. Billy was united in marriage to Ella Mae Speight on May 22, 1954 in Dadeville, MO. He was a Minister for many years serving at Flint Hill Church of Christ and the Bona Church of Christ. Billy also had worked for the United States Postal Service and farmed throughout his life. He loved his family and enjoyed collecting antiques.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Hugh and Rose Vanhooser; his wife, Ella Mae Vanhooser; one brother, Kenneth Vanhooser; and one sister, Mary Hoover.
Survivors include three children, Darrel Vanhooser and wife Rene of Aurora, CO, Debbie Worthington and husband Randy of Dadeville, MO, and Brad Vanhooser and wife Susan of Dadeville, MO; seven grandchildren, Darris Vanhooser and wife Marsha, Nicole Vanhooser, Dalton Vanhooser and wife Kimberly, Josh Worthington and wife Corry, Brian Worthington and wife Sarah, Ben Vanhooser and wife Audra, and Andrew Vanhooser and wife Julie; eleven great-grandchildren, Nathan Vanhooser, Audrey Vanhooser, Lydia Vanhooser, Wriston Worthington, Grayson Worthington, Corbin Worthington, Tate Worthington, Boone Worthington, Asa Vanhooser, Beau Vanhooser, and Paul Vanhooser; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Bona Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Bona Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bona Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Happy Hollow Bible Camp. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
