Harold D. Eckhoff, age 79, of Joplin, passed away on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at Spring River Christian Village, following an illness.
Harold was born on April 21, 1938 in Knob Noster, Mo., the son of the late Christy and Albena (Teberkamp) Eckhoff. He worked as a truck driver for L& P Transportation. He was a longtime member of Duenweg Assembly of God Church. His hobby was work he loved driving. He enjoyed going to flea markets and collecting. He always enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
He married Carolyn Severs on September 7, 1982 in Yukon, Okla., and she survives. Additional survivors include; two sons, Mike Eckhoff and wife Debbie, Republic, Mo., and Kevin Eckhoff, Joplin; three daughters, Melinda Millgan and husband Bernie, Joplin, Dana Eckhoff, Joplin, and Jody Simmons, Fayetteville, Ar.; one brother, Bill Eckhoff and wife Linda, Columbia, Mo.; four sisters, Betty Jones, Columbus, Ohio, Mary Beezley and husband Jay, Glen, Al., Marge Hough, Warrensburg, Mo., and Christy Hamm and husband Jerry, Bella Vista, Ar.; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Troy Eckhoff in August 2016; and two brothers, Lloyd and Chester Eckhoff.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Duenweg Assembly of God Church. Reverend Bill Hobson will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
The visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to the Duenweg Assembly of God Church in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
