Ed Hibbs

Edward “Ed” Franklin Hibbs, 90, of Carthage passed away Friday, June 6, 2014 at his home. Ed was born March 21, 1924 in Carthage. He attended Mark Twain School and graduated from Carthage High School in 1942. He served in the United States Marine Corps in WWII from 1942-1946. He retired from M.C. Jackson Printing Company (1955-1985). Ed was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Carthage and enjoyed serving and ministering to his family, friends and neighbors. He was also a member of Tri-States Barber Shop Chorus.

Ed was the loving husband of Carrie A. “Arning” Hibbs, married March 18, 1950 in Neosho, MO. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters; Diane Warren and husband Rex of Boliver, MO, Pamela S. Stines and husband George, Brenda K. Wilkinson and husband Robert all of Carthage, one sister; Ruth Rossilion of Wichita, KS, 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Carthage. Visitation will be 2:00 to 3:00 Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Park Cemetery.
