Helen Wilson

Helen M. Wilson, 83, Neosho, died June 6, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital, following a short illness.

Helen was born Nov. 7, 1930 in Elsworth, MN and moved to the area as a child. She graduated from Neosho High School in 1948 and was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. Helen volunteered on the election board, served on the Newton County Extension Council, DFA Dairy Board, Thrasher Cemetery Board, served as a 4-H Leader and was a member of the CSC, Merry Makers Club and was recognized as Farm Mother of the Year in 1983. She was a member of the Neosho United Methodist Church and a member of the UMW. 

Helen and Bob Wilson were married on April 24, 1949 in Neosho and he survives. She is also survived by a son, Mike Wilson and wife, Tina, Neosho; a daughter, Katha Winchester and husband, Larry, Joplin; a sister, Vera Bullock, Weatherford, OK; six grandchildren, Health Winchester and wife, Stephanie, Neosho, Travis Winchester and wife, Megan, Neosho, Amanda Sloan and husband, Jeremy, Diamond, Shannon Kleiboecker and husband, Jared, Pierce City, Kim Grewe and husband, Brandon, Cumberland, WI and Scott Wilson and wife, Jenna, Neosho and twelve great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Thelma Glen.
