Mike Boone

It is with a heavy heart and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Lee Boone, age 75 on January 30, 2022. He was born January 15, 1947.

After fighting a very long and hard battle he went to his Heavenly home, where he will be amongst family and friends. He had lived in Joplin since 1972 and prior to that Webb City, MO.









Leaving behind are his survivors, a son Dwaine Boone of Joplin, a daughter April Boone and her spouse, Crissy Boone of Joplin, sister, Patricia Boone of Webb City, MO and Brother Thomas Martin of Fort Worth, Texas. And his Loving ex-wife Shirley Boone of Joplin, Three grandsons, Dustin Michael Boone, William Thomas Boone and Brett Allen Boone, and many, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his Father, Ivan Boone, his mother, Edna Boone, Brothers James Boyd, Roy Boyd, Tom Boyd and Robert Boyd and Ronnie Boone and a sister Norma Seward.

Mike was a graduate of the Webb City High School class of 1965. He served with the Army National Guard. He had worked for the companies known as Midwest Materials/Ceilings & Walls for over 38 years, then he retired. He had lived in Joplin since 1972 and prior to that Webb City, MO.

He loved his family. He was a very dedicated father and was so very proud of each of his children and grandchildren. He would travel to where ever his grandson played baseball/football and would rally them on no matter what the weather; he would be there for his boys.

Mike loved his coon hunting, he would hunt anytime that he could go. He will be very busy coon hunting and sitting around the tables with his old buddies telling many, many stories Duane Clark and Bruce Van Slyke best buddies. He was the talk of the circle in hunting. He was the partial owner and full handler of World Champion/Dual Grand Night Champion Spring Creek Rock. He got to travel all over the United States for pleasure hunting and competition hunting.
Mike was a member of the CB radio Club name MOK. , an avid member American Coon Hunters and Treeing Walker Association and an avid member of the Four State Coon Hunters Association, American Kennel Club Association The co-founder of the Spring Creek Treeing Rockers linage.

He loved St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He never missed the game whether it was on the radio or TV. He was able to go to several of the games in St. Louis and in the I-70 series of the St. Louis Cardinals vs the Kansas City Royals.

Visitation will Friday 04, 2022 from 6 pm to 7 pm at Mason-Woodard Mortuary Chapel.

Services will be on Saturday February 05, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Chapel.

He will be laid to rest at the Mount Hope Cemetery, 3700 North Rangeline, Webb City, MO 64870.

A Celebration of Life will follow at the Elk’s Lodge in Webb City at 1010 S. Madison, covered dishes are welcome.
