Bob Agan

(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)

Bobby Andrew Agan, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed on June 27, 2022 surrounded by his family following a long battle with cancer.

Bob was born March 3, 1938, outside of Sarcoxie, MO, to Charles and Mellie (Baker) Agan.

As a young boy, Bob watched the soldiers come home from WWII in his hometown, which inspired him to later join the military. Bob served in the United States Navy from 1957-1959 in California.

Following his Naval service, Bob worked at Vickers, H.E. Williams, and Flex-O-Laters. After many failed retirements, Bob finally retired in 2020.

Bob married Betty Fagg on June 7, 1969. They spent 53 years together in the same house, creating a life they loved. On January 5, 1972, Bob became a dad to his daughter Puddin’ Barbara Agan. On August 13, 1977 Bob’s son, Robert Andrew, was born sleeping.

A true outdoorsman, Bob spent most of his life outside. Bob’s sanctuary was 13 acres of his family’s farm outside of Sarcoxie, where he spent many hours hunting, training dogs, picking blackberries, and enjoying the serenity of nature.

Bob spent many hours fishing at Roaring River with his homemade flies. An adventurer at heart, Bob loved to go on road trips to the West, as well as countless hunting and fishing trips with his friends.

Bob began his relationship with Christ in his later years, and attended Freedom Christian Fellowship who supported and prayed for him relentlessly through his many illnesses.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Esther Sanders Clanton and Walter “Sam” Agan; his son Robert Andrew Agan; his nephew and wife Kenneth and Charletta Sanders; his niece and husband Pauline and Joe Owens.

Bob is survived by his wife Betty Agan (Fagg) of Sarcoxie, MO; daughter, Barbara (Scott) Hettinger of Webb City, MO; his grandson Trey (Jessica) Laveroni of Joplin, MO; his granddaughters Baylee (Colton) Pfitzner of Gulfport, MS, and Anna Hettinger of Webb City, MO; his great- granddaughters Hannah White and Millie Laveroni; and great-grandsons Creed Laveroni and Liam Pfitzner; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

Bob is now able to fulfill a dream 44 years in the making: getting to embrace his son, Bobby.
