Dennis Rogers

Dennis W. Rogers, 81, Seneca, MO passed into eternal rest June 20, 2022 at Westgate Nursing Center in Joplin MO.

Dennis Warren Rogers was born May 29, 1941 in Seneca, MO the son of Warren H. and Genevieve M. Rogers. 

Dennis was a 1959 graduate of Seneca High School. He attended Missouri State College majoring in a Criminal Justice Administration. 









Dennis served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1980 retiring as a Chief Petty Officer (Yeoman). He served this nation during the Vietnam War where he received the, Good Conduct Medal with 5 stars, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Dennis was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; member of the Retired Enlisted Association. He formerly served as Post Commander for the Seneca VFW Post 6363. Dennis also served one year as president of the Seneca Chamber of Commerce. 

After retiring from the Navy, he worked six years as a police officer at Webb City and Seneca. He also served the community of Seneca as the Seneca City Clerk, two years as Municipal Judge of the City of Seneca and three terms on the Seneca City Council. He also served a two year's term on the Newton County Ambulance District Board of Directors.








Dennis married Myrtle A. Howell and she preceded him in death. He married Shirley L. Cope and she preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his parents Warren and Genevieve Rogers and one brother Terry Rogers.

Survivors include his wife Linda Rogers, Seneca; children, Randal Rogers and wife Elizabeth, Jay Rogers and wife Lauri both of Seneca and Jerry Rogers and wife Regina, Oak Ridge, OR; two brothers Garland (Lanny) H. Rogers and wife Nancy and Randy C. Rogers both of Joplin. 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral Services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the Seneca Assembly of God with Jerald Burnside and Denny Sikes officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 pm, Friday, June 24, 2022 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery with Military Rites.
