Dixie Clements

Dixie Lou Clements, age 84, of Lamar, Missouri passed away on June 14, 2022.

Dixie was born on November 16,1937 in Lamar, Missouri to Raymond L. Montgomery and Cleola Rector Montgomery. After graduating from Lockwood High School, Dixie attended business school in Springfield and moved to Carthage to work in a bank. 

On December 7,1957 Dixie married Roy Richard Clements of Lamar, Missouri.






 

For most of her adult life, Dixie worked as a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church Lamar, the Sunshine Circle Club and the Chat and Chew Club. She was a project leader for her children’s 4-H Club. She loved to sew and for a time she volunteered to mend clothing for the nursing home. A favorite hobby was weaving rag rugs and placemats which she enjoyed gifting to friends and family.

Survivors include one son, Mark (Kari) Clements of Lamar, Missouri; one daughter, Marcia (Hugh) Jenkins of Butler, Missouri; two sisters, Peggy Billingsley of Brookfield, Missouri and Betty Smittle of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Ryan (Jessica) Clements, Evan (Elizabeth) Clements, Annette Jenkins, Leah Clements, Logan Clements and Allison Jenkins; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding Dixie in death were her parents, Raymond and Cleola Montgomery; husband, Roy Clements; infant sister, Beverley Ann Montgomery; and grandson, Alexander Montgomery Jenkins.








Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18,2022 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lake Cemetery in Lamar, Missouri. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Contributions to the Lamar First Christian Church Building Fund (in care of Daniel Funeral Home) are suggested.
