Blanche Murphy

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Daisy Blanche Murphy, age 99, passed peacefully away at 12:13 pm on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Texas Health HEB Hospital in Bedford, Texas after a brief illness. She was born April 11, 1923, in Ellis Kansas to Humphrey Silas and Claudia Grace Connelly Hoffer.

On November 5, 1942, Blanche married Dale (Murph) Murphy who preceded her in death on November 1, 2010. They both attended Bolivar High School and lived in Bolivar, Missouri for many years while raising their daughter Peggy.

Blanche was a homemaker and member of the United Methodist Church in Neosho, Missouri. She was an active member of TOPS and several bowling leagues through the years. She loved to garden, play cards and spend time with her family, especially attending athletic events of her beloved granddaughter, Vikki.

After moving to Neosho in 1967 where Dale became the area supervisor for Empire Electric, Blanche started the Hoffer Family Reunion in 1975 and was something she looked forward to every year.

After Dale’s passing, Blanche spent her last 12 years in Texas with Peggy and Vikki. She traveled to Alaska, Hawaii, and other road trips around Texas, Florida, Arkansas and New Mexico. Her adventurous spirit led her to Taos where she went white water rafting at the age of 95.

Blanche is survived by her daughter, Peggy VanKuilenburg and granddaughter, Vikki Durham, both of Hurst, Texas, and sister-in-law Roberta Murphy of Springfield, MO, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The youngest of the Hoffer clan and the last of her Hoffer family, she will be reunited with her brothers; Lester, Ralph and Wayne Hoffer and her sisters; Gladys Wahlborg, Beatrice Rousch, Carrietta Brown, Marie Moore and Cora Bland.

A graveside service, under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 24, 2022, at the Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery in Neosho, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers and in memory of Blanche Murphy, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Faithful Friends of Neosho in care of Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, Missouri 64850
