Joseph Edwards

Joseph V Edwards, age 78, passed away at 12:52 PM, Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at his home following an illness.

Joseph was born August 26, 1944, in Asbury, MO. His parents were Orville and Berniece (Stults) Edwards. He had lived in Galena most of his life.

He was a veteran or the US Army serving in the European theater during the Vietnam era. He had worked as a security guard for several years at Eagle Picher in Joplin. After retiring from Eagle Picher, he worked for the City of Galena for 6 years in the water department before retiring again.

He was a member of Spring River Assembly of God Church, Riverton, KS. His favorite pastime was playing the piano, which he did nearly every day.

Joseph was married to Linda Gail Greenlee on May 26, 2007 in Galena, KS. She survives.

Additional survivors include four stepchildren, Leon Brown, Morrilton, AR, Crystal Owen, Galena, Cindy Charles, Tulsa, OK, and Tommy Brown, Conway, AR; 8 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Billy Michael Edwards, one great-grandson, three brothers, Gary, Allen and Tom, and one sister, Doris.

He was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS for cremation. No services are planned.
