(From Konantz Warden Funeral Home)Doris Marie Jungmann Woods passed away on September 5, 2024, at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Born on January 17, 1936, to Orpha and Carl Jungmann, she grew up in Lamar alongside her five brothers and sisters, graduating from high school in 1954.
Doris had a passion for sewing and crafting, even making her own dresses in high school. She would marry Leon Woods of Lockwood and raise three children, later moving to Arkansas and Oklahoma.
In midlife, she returned to Missouri, where she retired from O’Sullivan Industries and later Walmart. Doris remained active in the Lamar, joining the local chapter of the Red Hat Society and volunteering in the community. She also had a passion for the Lord, becoming a devoted member of Lamar Christian Church. She was beloved for her warm smile and kind spirit. Doris was also a big fan of NASCAR, the Kansas City Chiefs and Lamar High School football.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Carl, sisters Irene and Emily, and her daughter Debbie Stacks.
She is survived by her sister Linda Gerke, brother Paul Wayne Jungmann, daughter Cindy Engelke, and son Craig Woods, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If you would like to make a memorial contribution, the family suggests The Lamar Christian Church in care of the funeral home. Please join us in celebrating her life as she returns to the community and church she loved. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday September 14, 2024 at Lamar Christian Church.
