(From Midland Cremation Society)John "Greg" Dickey, 66, of Joplin, MO, passed away on August 29, 2024, after a long illness, with loved ones by his side. Born on December 7, 1957, in Joplin, MO, he was known for his kind and giving nature.
Greg was a man who touched the hearts of many with his gentle demeanor and generous spirit. He had an undeniable charm that endeared him to everyone he met, and a unique passion for collecting various clocks and frog-themed items, delighting in each regardless of others' opinions.
Throughout his life, Greg enjoyed vibrant social activities. He was fond of listening to music at high volumes, dancing enthusiastically, and was always up for a friendly challenge in pool or darts. A fervent football fan, Greg loved nothing more than to watch the games and enjoy gatherings with his friends.
Greg is survived by his daughter, Melody Dickey of Joplin, MO; stepson, Gary McKinney of Kansas City, MO; and grandson, Tyler Green and his wife Faith, who was more like a son to him. He also leaves behind granddaughters, Karya Thomas and her husband Joey of Joplin, and Autumn Achey of Columbia, MO; great-grandchildren, Kaiya and Jivie Thomas; along with many other family members and countless friends.
Greg was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joan Green; parents, Adren Dickey and Maxine Price; sister, Frances Cline and her husband Bill; and grandmother, Audrey F. Belt.
Greg's legacy of warmth, generosity, and spirited enthusiasm will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
