(From Parker Mortuary)It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fredrick Keith Zentner, age 89, who went to his heavenly home on June 10, 2025. Born in Joplin on November 18, 1935, Fred was a true pillar of strength and hard work.
Fred's work ethic was legendary, and he instilled in his children the value of perseverance and dedication. He was baptized in Shoal Creek as a youth and was an active choir member and deacon for Forest Park Baptist church for many years. His employment at Eagle Picher Industries afforded him the opportunity to work with great people and he and Sandra were able to enjoy witnessing the launches of two Apollo and two shuttle flights. Fred would watch space launches on his computer even if he had to set an alarm for the middle of the night.
