(From Parker Mortuary)Alliena Ann Taylor, age 76, of Joplin, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Alliena was born on August 17, 1948 in Moberly, MO, to the late union of Donald and Barbara (Young) Skinner. She grew up in the Carthage, MO area and graduated from Carthage High School in 1966. She began her career at Schreiber Foods, where she worked for over 50 years before retiring. She married Charles Taylor III on July 19, 1980 in Joplin, MO. Together they were blessed with 30 years of marriage before his passing on June 16, 2011.
Alliena enjoyed spending time with her friends, going to lunch and taking casino trips. She loved being with her family whenever she had the chance. Early in life, she enjoyed bowling and was part of a bowling league for some time. Alliena’s favorite part of the day was coming home to her loyal companion, Buddy.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jodi McCaskill.

Alliena is survived by her three children, Kristi Borter and husband, Brian, Charles “Chas” Taylor IV, and Jon Taylor; six grandchildren, Kimberlee Martin, Kaylee Martin, Alexis Taylor, Cole Taylor, Corbin Taylor and Kylienna Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Martin and Caroline Martin; and three brothers, Les Skinner and wife, Rhonda, Mel Skinner and wife, Nancy, and Steve Curry and wife, Cassi.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made out to the Joplin Humane Society in Alliena’s honor.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary with brother Jim Bowles officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
