(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Rosemary Summers, age 84, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 19, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Rosemary was born on December 26, 1939, to Carl and Ruby (Hubbard) Annis and grew up alongside her two siblings.
On March 10, 1955, she married her loving husband, Benjamin Summers and together they had six children.
Rosemary was known for her time as a waitress in many local restaurants, and even owned her own restaurant, Duenweg Café.
Preceding her in death are her husband Benjamin, one son Jimmy Summers, her parents Carl and Ruby, her brother Carl Annis Jr, and her sister Betty Kennedy.
She is survived by her children Benny Summers of Joplin, Lee Summers of Sarcoxie, Donnie Summers of Joplin, David Summers of Joplin, and Debbie Westervelt of Columbus, Kansas.
A funeral service has been scheduled for 2:00 pm on Friday, December 27 at Harmony Heights Baptist Church, 2025 Indiana Ave. Joplin, Missouri.
Family will receive friends and visitors at 1:00 pm prior to the service.
