(From Parker Mortuary)Jack Gougler Jr., age 61, of Galena, KS, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Jack was born on September 8, 1963 in Joplin, MO, to the late union of Jack Gougler Sr. and Laura (Sooter) Gougler.
He lived the majority of his life in the Joplin area.
Jack proudly served his country in the US Army for 2 years and 10 years in the US Navy. After his years in the military, he obtained his degree in Electrical and Mechanical engineering from MSSU and worked for several companies throughout his career including Tesi, Tamko, Leggett & Platt and Gougler Custom Tooling & Design.
In his 43 years with Susan, they were proud sports parents and attended Basketball, Baseball and Football games for both Jacob and Zach through the years.
Before his health started to fail him, Jack enjoyed playing golf with his boys.
Jack is survived by her wife, Susan, of 40 years; two sons, Jacob Gougler, of Galena KS and Zachery Gougler, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and one very precious granddaughter, Charlie, of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Gougler Sr and Laura Sooter; and one brother, Anthony Gougler.
He was also a great dog dad to several sweet girls throughout the years, he left behind Sasha, Riley, grand dogs Pearl and Izzy and the others met him at Heaven’s gate led by his girl Sugar.
Jack was also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, one niece Savannah who he loved dearly, his close loving cousin Tricia Braden and her daughters Megan, Johnna & Shelby and their families.
Jack was full of facts and stories, he was a gentle giant, a mentor and a great boss to many and will be missed by all that knew him.
We are better off for knowing him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Parker Mortuary from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Funeral arrangements are under the special care of Parker Mortuary.
