Herb Jessee

Herbert Vencil Jessee, age 70, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 6:11 a.m. on Monday December 30, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Aurora. He was born July 22, 1954, in Stella, Missouri, the son of Max and Wilda (Hawk) Jessee.

Herb was a 1972 graduate of Aurora High School. He worked with his family as an Insurance Agent for Jessee Insurance Agency in Aurora, Missouri. Herb was a Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts of America and loved fishing. He was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church.








On August 31, 1990, he married Sally Ann Wise in Aurora, Missouri.

Herb is survived by his wife of 34 years Sally; his daughter Sarah Rafferty and her husband, Matt of Homer, Alaska; his brother, Gary Jessee and his wife, Sheri, of Aurora, Missouri; his sister, Janet Stubblefield and her husband, Dennis, of Aurora, Missouri; three nieces, Amy (Derrick) Scroggins of California, Missouri, Lacy (Brandon) Phillips of Tallahassee, Florida, and Lyndy (Burt) Burtrum of Monett, Missouri; two nephews, Kyle (Alyssa) Bagby of Aurora, Missouri, and Clayton (Mia) Bagby of Monett, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Kim (Terry) Bagby of Aurora, Missouri, and Lori (Dave) Tegarden of Springfield, Missouri and his father and mother-in-law, John and Sue Wise of Aurora, Missouri.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Wilda and his sister, Janice Jessee.








A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora, Missouri.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in care of the funeral home.
