Audra Crayne

Audra Aretta Crayne 88, of Jerico Springs, was born November 08, 1934 in Jerico Springs, MO. Monday evening, September 18, 2023 she left us, with a smile on her face to go be with family and friends who were waiting for her with Jesus.

Aretta was born to William Kirbey Crayne and Flossie Azella (Brasher) Crayne. She was welcomed home by her three big brothers, Lorin, Charles and Meredith. She graduated from Stockton High School in 1952. 







She married John Philip Salyer in June 1952 and they welcomed four children, Cathy, Jeanine, Stephen and Lori. Aretta retired from 35 years working at Finley Engineering in Lamar. Aretta enjoyed going to Silver Dollar City and Branson and spent lots of time enjoying the rides and Country music shows. She enjoyed traveling and seeing new things and became quite the traveler seeing many wonderful places with her cousins Marilyn and Barbara. She even got to take a cruise when her granddaughter, Megan, took her to the Bahamas. Aretta also was a devoted Christian and was always very active in her church.

Aretta is survived by her four children Cathy Salyer of Jerico Springs, Jeanie Roe of Springfield, MO, Stephen Salyer (and Dana) of Jerico and Lori (Todd) Payne of Lamar, MO. Also surviving are her ten grandchildren, Chad (Christi) Burchett of Stockton, MO, Craig (Charity) Burchett of Liberal, MO, Caryn (Ryan) Yokley of Moundville, MO, Melissa Asbell, Matt Holder and Tyler Roe of Springfield, MO, Nicci (Cory) Arruda of Claremore, OK, Tony Rust (and Amber) of Lamar, MO, Megan Hollands (and her fiancĂ© Steve Smith) of Nevada Mo. and Trey Payne of Lamar, MO. Great-Grandchildren Coby (Kinsie) Burchett, Cooper, Camryn and Mikayla, Chloe and Carli Burchett, Wyatt and Wade Yokley, Kelsey and Audra Asbell, DruAnne (Robert) Eagleburger, Cailyn, Gage, Lauryn, Garrett and Ridge Hollands and Gavin, Grady and Grantley Payne, Dax, Molli, Melody Arruda, Lydia, Wyatt, Riley, Toni Rust and Ava Stewart. Great-great Grandchildren – Tre, Aurorah, Dae, Marklea, Isaiah, Blair, Quincy and Kooper.

Aretta was proceeded in death by her parents, three brothers, one infant granddaughter, one infant great-granddaughter, one infant great-great grandson and her precious fur baby Mia.
She is also survived by her dear friend Margaret Osborne and many other cousins and close friends too numerous to list.








Aretta will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made for the Jerico Springs Community Building Center.

Services Friday at 2:00 PM in Jerico Springs Methodist Church, Burial in Greenfield Cemetery Jerico Springs

Visitation Thursday 7 to 8 PM in the Funeral Home
