(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Billy Ray Vogt, 85, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at home with his boys and daughter-in-law at his side.
Bill was born on August 9, 1938, in Stotts City, Missouri, to Bill Vogt and Dorothy “Matlock” Vogt. He worked for Snyder Construction as a heavy equipment operator before retiring. In his free time, he liked to hunt for treasure with his metal detector or build his own treasures while woodworking.
Bill was united in marriage to Beatrice Brewer in 1957. They spent 38 wonderful years together before she preceded him in death in 1995.
He is survived by two sons, Mike Vogt (Tammy), and Mark Vogt (Debrah) both of Carthage and one brother, Gary Cochell of Nevada; two grandsons, Ben Vogt and Adam Vogt (Casey); five great grandkids, Aaris Vogt, Sidney Vogt, Trason Vogt, Kale Vogt, and Kanen Vogt; and three great-great grandkids.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin Stocker, and Chris Stocker, two daughters, Karen Peters, and Denita Douglas; one brother, Jerry Vogt; and his long-time special friend, Trixie McNeff.
A funeral service has been scheduled for Bill at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Ulmer Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like any contributions to be made to The Cancer Research Foundation.
