Ed Prichard

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Ed Prichard of Joplin passed away peacefully on the morning of September 26, 2023 surrounded by family. He was born on August 4, 1941 in Carona, Kansas to Wilbur Rex and Angeline (Petermalo) Prichard.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, LaVietta, and their two children and families: Lori Prichard Booth and her children, Link and Brennan, of Bountiful, Utah and Brian (Jennifer), and their children, Derick, James and Jonathan of Caledonia, Michigan. He is also survived by two sisters, Sharon Tridle and Rosemary (Jim) Pender. He is preceded in death by his sister, Connie Allen and son-in-law, Travis Booth.

In addition to his family, Ed’s great love was the outdoors. He was a skilled hunter and fisherman, traveling to South Africa, Canada, Belize, Mexico, Alaska and many other places. He was a man of few words but possessed such sharp wit, when he spoke, his friends called them “Ed-isms.”

He and his wife are members of Christ’s Community Church.

There are no services planned, per his request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carthage Humane Society where he adopted his two beloved dogs, Dotti and Lady.
