Eadlyn Smith

(From Simpson Funeral Home)

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Baby Eadlyn Dawn Smith, affectionately known as Eadie and Pee Wee. Born and passed on the same day, September 22, 2023, in Joplin, Missouri, her light shone briefly but brightly.

Despite her short time with us, Baby Eadlyn touched many lives with her presence, creating memories that will always be cherished. "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart;" (Jeremiah 1:5).

Baby Eadlyn was a tiny bundle of joy, her kicks and movements bringing smiles to her parents' faces. Her favorite activities included kicking mommy's bladder and hanging out in her lungs, habits that brought a unique sense of humor and joy to her family. The memories of her vibrant life, though brief, will forever remain in our hearts.

Baby Eadlyn is survived by her loving parents, Kristina Hoxie and Adam Smith; grandparents Dessie Showen, Curtis Wilson, Tammy Carter, Bradley Carter; great-grandparents Sandy Showen, Danny Showen, Steve Carter, Lisa Holden and a host of aunts and uncles who loved her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her big sister, Uncle Bret, Aunt Shelby, and great-great-grandmother Dessie Showen. A graveside service will be held at Osborne Memorial Cemetery, Joplin, Missouri, at 10:00 am on Friday, September 29th, 2023.

As we remember her, let us celebrate her life and the joy she brought to all who knew her, no matter how briefly. "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." (Revelation 21:4)
