(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Megan Dianne Jones, age 34, passed away at 6:22 pm, Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, MO following an illness.
Megan was born March 11, 1991 in Joplin, MO to Jerry Dale Jones and Tonya Ann (Haase) Jones.
She was a graduate of Joplin High School. She enjoyed swimming, baking, and country music but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her mother and father, Roy and Tonya Stafford, Carthage, MO; her siblings, Jennifer Huffhines (William), Carthage, MO, Jessica Moore (Darick) Baxter Springs, Roy Stafford IV, (Anna) OKC, Sarah Williams, (Mark), Anderson, MO, and Jacob Britt (Lauren) Hinesville, GA; Grandmother, Warrena Jones, Baxter Springs; bonus mother, Kristina Britt, Richmond, VA and bonus grandmother, Minnie Stafford, Carthage, MO; Nieces and Nephews: Kaleb, Audrey, Cambri, Gabe (Sierra), Ben, Zayla, Zander, Zeegan, Zade, Liam, and Oaklynn, along with numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Jones; Grandfathers: Jim Jones, Roy Stafford Jr.; Maternal grandmother, Erma Mathia; Great Grandparents: Warren and Florene Price, Almas and Martha Jones; and Uncles: Eddie Haase and Bob Jones
A Celebration of life will be from 6pm – 8 pm, Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs, KS. The family would love for everyone to wear Megan's favorite color of green.
