(From Simpson Funeral Home)Catherine Lorraine “Cathy” Burkhart, 64, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Born on May 29, 1961, Cathy lived a life marked by determination, humor, and a generous spirit that touched everyone around her.
Outgoing and strong-willed, Cathy found joy in the simple things—especially working in her yard, where she felt most at home. In her retirement, she cherished time spent with her mother, Dorothy Reed, and delighted in “driving everyone crazy” in the way only she could: with love, stubbornness, and laughter.
Cathy is survived by her loving mother, Dorothy Reed; her sons Troy Drury, Christopher Drury, and Chuck Burkhart; her sister Gretchen Galardo; and her brother Stephen Galardo. She leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who adored her deeply. Her presence in their lives leaves a lasting imprint of strength, perseverance, and unconditional love.
Among her greatest life achievements was her unwavering resilience—surviving everything life handed her and finding peace in accepting what she could not change. She embodied the wisdom of her favorite quote:
“The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising…” — Nelson Mandela.
At this time, no services will be held. Should plans change, friends and family will be notified. The family deeply appreciates all of the heartfelt well wishes from those who knew and loved Cathy.
May her memory be a comfort and a blessing to all who carry her in their hearts.
