Richard Ioanis

Richard Edward Ioanis, 23, a devoted father, beloved son, and cherished brother, passed away on November 6, 2025, in Joplin, Missouri. He was born on December 26, 2001, in Tamuning, Guam, to his parents, Richard and Elishna Ioanis.

Richard brought immeasurable joy and compassion to all who knew him throughout his life.

His childhood was shared with his many siblings - Elsyann, Truman, Cathryn, Chadrick, Marvin, Kateryann, Joann, Sueann, and Ellanika. He graduated from JFK High School in 2020.

In 2021, Richard embarked on a new chapter, moving to Joplin, Missouri, where he began working at Jasper Products. Outside of work, he enjoyed playing basketball with his brothers and cousins and spending time with friends playing PUBG.

Richard's heart, however, belonged to his young son, Archi Ioanis. His pride in fatherhood was evident to everyone, for talking about his son brought the brightest smile to his otherwise reserved and quiet demeanor. His love for Archi was the truest expression of his own gentle, loving spirit. His favorite color was black, and he loved spicy food. He was known to be a quiet yet competitive person.

Richard is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Kahd Ioanis and Edmund Edward; his uncle’s Terrance and Truman Ioanis, and Edner Edward.

He is survived by his son, Archi Ioanis; his parents Elishna and Richard Ioanis Sr.; his siblings Elsyann Henry, Truman Ioanis, Cathryn Ioanis, Chadrick Ioanis, Marvin Edward, Kateryann Ioanis, Joann Ioanis, Sueann Ioanis, and Ellanika Ioanis; his brother in-laws, Julius Ohsiae and Barly Henry; and his sister in-law, Josephine Edward.
