(From Buchanan Funeral Home)Frieda (Flaherty) Crawford, age 91, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025. She was born on March 24, 1934, in Pierce City, Missouri, where her lifelong devotion to faith, family, and service to others began.
Frieda lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and a genuine desire to help others. Her deep passion for music was matched by remarkable natural talent, as she could play six different instruments by ear with ease. She was equally gifted in the kitchen, known for her exceptional pies and for filling her home each year with homemade jellies and jams. These gifts of love, always shared freely with family and friends, became treasured traditions that will be remembered for generations.
A devoted member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Aurora MO, where Frieda practiced her faith and contributed to her community with dedication and quiet strength.
On June 8, 1957, in her hometown of Pierce City, Frieda married Curtis D. Crawford. Together they built a beautiful family and shared many cherished memories until Curtis’s passing on October 16, 2012.
Frieda is survived by her children, Larry (Roberta) Crawford of Fenton, MO, and Alisa Crawford of Overland Park, KS; her cherished grandchildren, Kayla and Colleen Crawford; as well as extended family and many dear friends.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene O’Flaherty and Lawrence Flaherty; her sisters, Junetta Rakoski and Florence Wright; and her husband, Curtis.
Frieda leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness that will continue to live in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her warmth, her generosity, and the simple joy she found in caring for others—whether through a comforting song or a slice of homemade pie—will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
May she rest in peace, held in God’s care.
