(From Knell Mortuary)John Bradford Bonnow, Jr., aged 65, of Freistatt, Missouri, passed away early Saturday morning, November 15, 2025, at his home. He was born on July 10, 1960, in Carthage, Missouri, the son of the late John Bradford Bonnow, Sr. and Helen (McCandless) Bonnow Ralston.
John's early years in Carthage were filled with the joys of small-town life, which shaped his friendly and loving nature. He was a man who wore many hats throughout his career. Known for his strong work ethic, John spent many years as a dedicated truck driver, an operator at ADM in Carthage, and brought joy to many through his work at the Carthage Greenhouse. His colleagues remember him not just for his reliability and skill but also for his humor and the camaraderie he brought to the workplace.
Family was the cornerstone of John's life. He is survived by his children, Samantha Escoto Landin (Armando), John Bradford Bonnow III, and James Poindexter (Brittany); the mother of his children, Bobbie Myers; his two sisters and brother; his brothers-in-law and best friends, Jerrold and Leroy Myers; his thirteen grandchildren, who will miss their grandfather's funny stories and warm hugs; and many extended family members and friends.
John's interests were as big-hearted as his personality. An avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, he shared his passion for football with everyone he knew. His love for fishing was well-known, and many will remember him as the best fish fryer around, a title he wore with pride during family gatherings and community events. His laughter was contagious, and his presence could light up a room. He was the kind of person who made friends wherever he went, and those friendships often lasted a lifetime.
Per John’s wishes, there was cremation. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
