(From Weng Funeral Chapel) Steven Kenny Thornton, 84 of Jasper, Missouri passed away peacefully Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Webb City Health and Rehab. Steven was born on December 6, 1940 in Joplin, Missouri to Albert and Mary (Stevenson) Thornton. Steven had worked many years as a welder. He also raised cattle,and was very fond of John Deere tractors. He also loved to tinker.
Steven was united in marriage to Helen Perkins on July 12, 1963. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2024. Survivors include two sons, Steve Thornton (Christine) and Mark Thornton (Candy), one daughter, Lori Craig (Josh), twelve grandchildren, and twenty nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a grandchild.
Graveside services will be held Friday, November 28, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Paradise Cemetery. The body will lie in state on Friday, November 28, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Missouri
