(From Parker Mortuary)Roger Allen Martin, age 77, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Freeman Hospital.
Roger was born July 16, 1948, in Joplin, Missouri, to James Leslie Martin and Izetta Marie (Williams) Martin. A lifelong resident of the Joplin area, he attended Joplin High School before joining the United States Army, where he earned his GED and honorably served his country.
Upon returning home, Roger opened Martin Motors and operated the business with his brother Jerry on West 7th Street in Joplin for 28 years.
In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting with his father, and attending turkey shoots. He also cherished time spent with friends and took great pride in his home. Roger was a lifelong member of the Joplin Elks Lodge and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Martin, and his sister, Judy Jeffers.
Roger is survived by his two sons, Scott Martin and wife Jennifer of Texas, and Chris Martin and wife Tara of Nebraska; four grandchildren, Chase, Ali, Dylan, and Emily; and his sister, Linda Richmond and husband John of Joplin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Martin, and his sister, Judy Jeffers.

Graveside services will be held at Osborne Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
