Beulah Ilene Wells, 82, of Monett, MO, was called home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 14, 2015 following a sudden illness.
Beulah was born on July 4, 1932 in Butterfield, MO, the daughter of the late Archie and Julia (McMillian) Boyd. Beulah attended Monett Schools and was a member of Ridgley Baptist Church. She had worked for many years as a Cashier at Ramey’s in Monett. Beulah was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.
In 1950, Beulah married Charlie B. Payne. To this union four children were born, Diane, Johny, Debbie and Pam. Charlie preceded her in death in 1959. In 1963, she married Jack Kirk and to this union a daughter was born, Sherri Lynn. In 1973, Beulah and Billie J. Wells were united in marriage. He passed away in 1997.
Beulah is survived by her three daughters, Debbie Feather and husband Chris, of Sarcoxie, MO, Pam Roller and husband Curtis, of Purdy and Sherri Lynn Phillips and husband Tim, of Lamar, MO; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her step-children, Patsy Cooper, and husband Dick, Ruthie Thomas and husband Jim, Barbara Hahn and husband Les, Joy Burns, Charlotte Neimeyer and husband Larry and Douglas Wells. She was also preceded in death by one son, Johny Payne; one daughter, Diane Payne; two brothers, Estes and Elzie Boyd; three sisters, Nora Ramsey, Irene Smith and Ruby Wells; two grandsons, Preston Sullivan and Justin Garrett; two step-sons, Jimmy and Billie Wells.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wells will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Buchanan Funeral Home. Reverend Tony Martin will be officiating. Interment will be at the Arnhart Cemetery, Purdy. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Arnhart Cemetery in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home.
