Stuart Franklin Hoover, 62, passed away June 3, 2015 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO after a long and painful series of treatments for cancer. He was born November 3, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio to Leland J. Hoover and Betty (Brown) Hoover. Stuart graduated from Carthage High School in 1970 and went on to get his B.A. from Pittsburg State University and his B.S.ED at Missouri Southern State University. Stuart worked the last 15 years at Roper Honda where he was a top salesman. Stuart was always a good student and a loving son and brother. His interests and hobbies included politics, old cars, music, and love for his dog Tinkerbell.
He is survived by his mother; Betty Hoover, Carthage; a sister; Jeanette Hoover, Mt. Rainier, MD; a brother; David (wife Phyllis) Hoover, Atlanta GA; cousins; Veda (husband Ron) Hitchcock, Joe Hoover; nieces; Angela Hoover, and Staci (husband Travis) Downey.
He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Martha Marie Hoover, who died in 1968 at the age of five.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Grace Episcopal Church, 820 Howard Street, Carthage, MO. The Very Reverend Steve Wilson will officiate. A visitation will be held immediately following the service. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date in La Mesa, CA.
