Bruce Edwin Parcell, age 63, Joplin, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Freeman Hospital after a sudden illness.
Bruce was born June 28, 1951 in Wichita, Kansas to Joan Nicholson White and the late Jim White and had lived in Joplin most of his life.
Bruce worked in sales at Sears for 16 years, retiring in 2012. Prior to that, he had worked in the construction field doing remodeling jobs. He was a member and past treasurer of the Southwest Missouri Railroad Association Model Train Club. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Bruce was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving as a Sergeant, aircraft armament systems specialist, during the Vietnam War.
He married Pamela Abben on March 21, 2003 in Carthage. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include his children, Christian Kessinger, Shannon Parcell, Joshua Parcell, Joey Parcell; two 'step' children, Timothy Henderson, Misty Arehart and her husband, Charles; daughter-in-law, Amber Henderson; siblings, Lori Hoskins, Steve White, Tracy Cory, Valerie Werner, Kim Cockriel, Kelly Eastwood; his mother, Joan White; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Memorial services are planned for Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Brad Graves will officiate. The family will receive friends following the services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, in care of Parker Mortuary.
