Michael “Mike” Lee Gray, 71, of Pittsburg passed away at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Medicalodge of Frontenac.
He was born August 31, 1943 at Ottawa, KS, the son of Bill and Della (Conley) Gray. Mike graduated from Garnett High School and then attended Pittsburg State University where he was a member of the Phi Sigma Epsilon fraternity. Mike was also in the National Guard for 7 years.
On December 21, 1968 he was united in marriage to Linda Owens at Parsons, KS. She survives of the home. Mike worked for Bill’s Coal as a coal miner and then for Red Giant Oil as an oil salesman. He was also an avid railroad memorabilia collector.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Gray of Pittsburg, KS, two sons, Bill Gray and his wife Jennifer of Webb City, MO, and Nick Gray and his wife Debbie of Topeka, KS; two grandsons, Owen and Nathan Gray of Webb City, MO; and three granddaughters Jessica, Katie, and Samantha Gray of Topeka, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Gray has been cremated.
A private family burial will be at a later date in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery at Parsons, KS. The family suggests memorials to the SEK Humane Society.
