Flossie Mae Burr, 85, Neosho, died February 25, 2015 at Freeman Hospital in Neosho, following a lengthy illness.
Flossie was born May 9, 1929 in Elsey, Missouri, the daughter of William and Bertha (Essary) King. She was a lifelong area resident and had worked at J.C. Penney’s for 25 years and then sold real estate before her retirement. She was a lifelong member of the Northside Baptist Church, where she was a member of the WMU and had been active in the youth choir. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.
Flossie married Dale Burr on December 25, 1947 in Neosho and he preceded her in death on August 16, 2004. She is survived by three sons, Dennis Burr and wife, Debbie of Florissant, Colorado; Robert Burr and wife, Satotha of Neosho and Russell Burr and wife, Glenda of Webb City; one brother, Kenneth King of Los Angeles, California; seven grandchildren, Heather, Amanda, Allison, Andrew, Ashton, April and Julie; and three great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers, Gerald, Todd, Joe, Bob and Jess King.
