Bill Larey

Mr. Joe William “Bill” Larey, Jr., or affectionately known as Papa Bear, passed away the morning of August 25, 2015, in the comfort of his home in Neosho, Missouri, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was 66 years of age.

He was born May 31, 1949, in Texarkana, Texas, to the late Joe William Larey, Sr. and Lorene (Dexter) Larey. He was raised on a farm in Fouke, Arkansas. He attended elementary school in Fouke and graduated in 1967 from Arkansas High in Texarkana, Arkansas. He had two siblings, Delta Larey Chalker and Marcus Wayne Larey.

Bill is survived by his wife, Georgia Larey of the home; four children, Terry Larey and wife, Angie, of Grove, Oklahoma, Denisha Larey Gonzalez and husband, Jose, of Grove, Marcus Larey and wife, Melisa, of Andrews, North Carolina and Stacy (Corter) Hendrix and husband, Grant, of Anderson, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, Katie, Dakota, Kelsea, Joseph, Jesse, Kassi, Trevor, Jacob, Ally, Bryan, Brock, Brandon, Mason and Carley; four great grandchildren, Lily, Lexi, Whitney and Austin; two nephews, David Chalker and wife, Christi, of Dallas, Texas and Brent Chalker and wife, Heather, of Millington, Tennessee; his mother-in-law, Thelma McAnally of Neosho, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends.

He lived many years in Nashville, Arkansas and loved to watch Scrapper football. He moved to Greenville, South Carolina in 1986, later moving to Grove, Oklahoma in 1990. He was employed by Simmons Foods for several years, retiring in December of 2011. Bill loved spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, watching football, shooting sporting clays and solving the worlds problems with friends at Gearhead Grill in Neosho. He was the world’s biggest Arkansas Razorback fan and loved to watch them in all sports. Everyone that met Bill adored him. He was a kind and gentle man who never met a stranger. Call Those Hogs!!

Memorial services for Mr. Larey are 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2015, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Trevor Royce officiating. The family requests everyone wear Arkansas Razorback attire if at all possible. In lieu of flowers memorial are being directed to his son Marcus’s church, Cornerstone Community Church, P.O.
