Nancy K. Eden, age 62, of Joplin, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015, at Freeman West Hospital.
She was born in Webb City to James W. Hawkins and Norma (Copeland) Hawkins Melton on December 28, 1952. Nancy was an executive housekeeping manager for both the Drury Inn and the Hampton Inn in Joplin.
She married James Eden on August 8, 1986 in Webb City, and he survives her at their home. She is also survived by her daughter, LeAnne Young of Joplin; step-daughters, Tracy Ann Eden of Carthage, Stephanie Lee Eden Flinn and husband J.P. of Florida; grandchildren are Katelyn Nicole Young, Olivia Flinn, Ryan Flinn; step-father, Al Melton; brother, Jim Hawkins and wife Susan of Asbury; sisters, Janet Cook and husband Ron of Joplin, Rosemary Combs and husband Ron of Webb City; along with many nieces, nephews and other family members. One of the most important aspects of Nancy’s life was her spending time with her family.
Per Nancy’s request, a graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Please join us for a time of remembrance and celebration on Friday, August 28, 2015, at Royal Heights United Methodist Church, 1612 Euclid Avenue in Joplin, starting at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
